ABF The Soldiers' Charity

ABF The Soldiers' Charity

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity (formally The Army Benevolent Fund, founded in 1944) exists to support the men and women who have put everything on the line to defend us and our country. For 70 years, we have given a lifetime of support to serving soldiers, veterans, and their families when they have faced severe financial hardship or crisis. We help regardless of age, circumstance or rank.

As the Army’s National Charity, we are one of the leading grant makers for soldiers and ex-soldiers, providing 6,000 financial grants, and over £2.9 million to other specialist military charities each year. We are the backbone of support to the Army family. The scope of our work is huge, supporting those with physical and mental injuries, supporting veterans in their later years, relieving hardship when times get tough and enabling soldiers make a success of their lives outside the Army.

Soldiers risk their lives for us, so please help us to be there for serving and former soldiers, and their families in their hour of need.
